September in the Rain
Ole Blue Eyes had it right… the month kicked off with a particularly autumnal flavour leading me to get soaked… twice. But I did get a 150mm lens for the Bronica which I was quite keen to secure for a very good price! I have a couple more I want to find (but I won’t spend a lot on them!) to complete my basic landscape and general purpose line up. I have the widest and the longest that I plan, just need the two in the middle!
Anyway, the laptop and Adobe are having a spat so I am currently having to learn a new editing package, which really put me to the test today as I had a few stills to get sorted out from a job and then my Photo of the Day/Photo Diary edit which was a somewhat more complex affair. On1 Photo RAW MAX is pretty good, all in all, and does most of the things I want it to - the only issues just now are batch HDR merges, which I can’t even run in Luminar as that is not playing nice either yet - and some of the data edits. I shall persevere though as my desktop is really struggling with anything just now, and I am holding out on replacing that for a bit longer yet if I can! Ideally Windows on ARM will mature enough in the next few months that I can operate purely on the laptop which, despite being somewhat low specced, is doing well at most things I throw at it. So much so that I am quite keen on exploring the ARM options for desktops, although possibly the nVidea solutions rather than Qualcom.
