Into the penultimate month of 2026 and things are looking… kind of interesting. Work has been quiet over October so I am hoping for a pre-Christmas boost, but I am also setting out this month to start shooting for Saatchi, my next panel for The BIPP and my first for The RPS. Anything being offered for sale via Saatchi will also be here, available direct, but it is still going to be unique prints so if it sells on one platform that will be it, there will only be one physical edition ever made and it will be held here until sold. Everything being offered will be printed before it goes up… and that means printed by me either here in my home darkroom or at WASPs at the community darkroom - depending on how large the print is and how large the negative is!
I have loads of plans and ideas as to where this is going - and I can see a large format camera in my future for a specific project - for now, however, it will be medium format all the way!
It has been a lazy start to the month after a busy old week, not particularly work busy… just life! The dark months are here now though, right through until the end of March when the clocks change again - it’s that cosy time of year, but it is the part of the year with the best light and most interesting landscapes to make the most of in the few hours of daylight that we get!
As mentioned, my plan for this month is to start shooting for art - I have a plan for a week tomorrow to revisit a site in Caithness with film cameras, and I would like to get out to a place in Glenmorison this week… and perhaps Glengarry depending on how time goes. I am rather excited!
