As The Dust Settles

It seems as though I was right - yesterday’s election, at least in Scotland, didn’t produce a major sea change in the direction of movement. Which is a shame… the full results are not yet out with the PR side of the count still to be declared in the Highlands, but the SNP are down a bit, the Greens are up a bit and an unfortunate smattering of the lunatic fringe managing to infultrate the country. Thankfully nothing like to the extent that we see south of the border, but Scotland has always been a more socialist leaning nation.

So I guess the arguements will continue over the next few years with the real test of national direction coming in 2029 with the UK General Election, which I can almost see being run as a defacto referendum as it stands.

I would have liked to have seen a bigger showing from the Green Party than we got myself, because I feel that their brand of Social Democracy would have been a good fit with our Scandinavian cousins.

But, as it stands, I think there is quiet positivitiy about the results really. But now back to photography!
