February Blues

This month is dragging - February always does for me! It may be the shortest month, but it doesn’t feel it!

Anyway, just one more week to go and that is it done!

Yesterday I didn’t get around to posting, so this is a double whammy! Saturday was just a bit bleak out, plus we are in that problematic cash flow phase of the month, so it was a chill out day and planning some things, making some decisions… just generally getting a plan for life over the coming weeks and months. It had to be done, and it may as well happen on a wet and miserable day!

21st February 2026

Sunday was a different story - the weather improved markedly overnight and we had plans to go and visit the Highland Experience at Inverness Castle. The castle itself has been restored to perfection, and the experience itself was really well done. It was perhaps a little smaller than we had anticipated, but it was a fantastic example of blending audio visual components to tell a compelling story. Which is something i am currently researching myself as I am just about set to start on my Clearances project now. I have a whole load of source material and I just need to find the threads of a story to pull at! It is opening up other ideas and possibilities as I do so, in this instance my plan is to follow the stories of a few of the key glens in Sutherland, but I want to expand my ideas further yet - I want to start following my own family story out of Sutherland! That isn’t a “now” project… but it may be a “next”!

Anyway, the view from the castle tower was probably the finest view of Inverness I have yet found, so here it is as my photograph for today.
