February is Go
So a quiet day today, but I am looking forward to seeing where the next 4 months take me! At the moment it is all looking pretty local, which is fine as I really want both my car repaired and my feet to sort themselves out, before we get too ambitious! I do have some plans though and really want to get stuck in to some of the projects I have lining up! I plan to shoot more videos about my work and what I get up to as both social media stories and reels… and perhaps get back on the YouTube wagon after a long while off! These things take quite a bit of time though so it all depends on how the coming weeks pan out.
I am having more thoughts on kit - the medium format digital move is still very much forefront in my mind, but I am also liking the look of both the Fujifilm X100VI as a smaller pocket camera and the Ricoh GR IV Monochrome is also very much on my radar as something quirky and different! I think the film side of things will stay as is for now! Unless I come across a large format camera at a price I can’t refuse that is! I want to concentrate more on shooting and printing than kit on the analogue front for a while though as I think sometimes more kit just gets in the way! That said, I think I am going to try shooting more on the Nikon Z7II this week to see how it handles my day to day work, along with it’s trio of f2.8 zooms, as I try and decide what my commercial set up really needs. This will also help with any incidental landscape photography of course!
Car woes are still very much a thing too - it is going to be another 4 weeks before that gets seen to, and it is also up for it’s MOT around then too so I will try and arrange for that to be done whilst it is in for repairs if I can! This will keep my down time to a minimum! Then I need to start thinking about long term and whether I switch if for a longer legged EV this year, go back to dino-juice for a bit, or hold on and stick with the Toyota for another 12 months and reassess both my finances and requirements at that point. There is a bit of a shift in the charger landscape of the Highlands going on which may resolve some of my challenges (I am sure I saw a 100kW charger being high lighted by the company taking over from Charge Place Scotland - if that is to become standard and widespread through the region then things coule be looking much easier!)
So that is it for now, tomorrow I am out and about around Inverness and getting the rest of my January invoices done! My switch to Quickbooks for all things accounting and invoicing will start to take shape with the idea to go live with it possibly this month, possibly for the start of 26/27.
