OK Computer

Or not. Not ok. My PC has eaten my scheduling/invoicing/organisational spreadsheet. Again. It has been doing this every couple of days this week, I think it may just be an upload issue to OneDrive as the volume of date heading up and down via Elon Musks satellites is quite staggering. It has shown me a couple of things though - firstly… I probably need to use something a wee bit more robust. I am half thinking about switching from Exel to Sheets for this purpose - then everything is on the cloud and accesable from anywhere on anything. Which sounds good. I am also looking at more local backup and working drive systems, this is a bit more long term though as it will involve some kind of NAS drive! This would fit with my plans of adding a hybrid tablet/laptop type device soon as that will be limited on local storeage by nature of the beast - I may go more laptop than tablet yet mind! There are some dedicated photography systems with card readers and SSD arrays which look good, if currently crazy expensive due to the AI memory and SSD shortage.

But anyway - just now I am going to leave the PC doing a huge upload to OneDrive to see if that restores my master sheets, and then tomorrow I can catch up with my work. Today, though, we went to the seaside to eat fish suppers and watch some boats. It was lovely!
