Progress Report

So I still haven’t got anywhere with Capture One, but I have quantified the issue which seems to be a mixing up of yellow and blue - which are reversed. So knowing the problem is at least a step towards finding a solution. In the meantime I have come up with a work around using Lightroom Classic, which is annoying me as it won’t link to Photoshop on the ARM processors - and tonight I have been trying Lightroom CC which seems to run better in itself, but is also having issues linking to Photoshop. Not that it matters too much as neither the NIK collection or Luminar are working within Photoshop. So frustrations still abound!

However - I did manage to run a job through from start to finish on the laptop today, and it went well. Slower than I would like, but I think that was due to limitations in the software rather than hardware - and it probably should be remembered that this is a brave new world of silicone and things *should” get better as ARM hardware starts to make a dent in the old x86 system sales. This is the technology that Apple use for their processors - it is good… very good… it just needs the software makers to get on board.

So a successful day then, and solid progress. Enough so that I am feeling confident that I should be able to rebuild my desktop properly next week - I may book a day off to actually get stuck into it - and probably reorganising and tidying my office too… so perhaps two days….
