Fix You

In a moment of madness I decided to rebuild my PC tonight. Not just a little tweak - no… nothing so simple. A complete scorched Earth, back to the beginning, reinstallation of Windows and then all the ancilliary software ontop of that. Which was a bold decision at 6pm on a Sunday when I have a job on tomorrow! Things have been deteriorating in tech-world for quite some time though to the point that daily edits were taking twice as long as they should and things just were not working properly - I have been putting this off for several months.

But… it is done. It is just going midnight and most things are reinstalled, reconfigured and ready for work. I have a couple of export settings to add to Lightroom, and another preset or two to rebuild there. Then in Photoshop I have some basic actions to reconfigure which are more or less administrative things rather than creative. They just all help to streamline my processes and help me get client work out same day… so if this works I will be delighted!

My plan was to start putting together a shoot list for the first of my series of landscape photographs for the new project with an aim to kicking off in the coming days now that I have a functioning darkroom at home. But that can slip back a little if needs be as the day to day is the priority just now!

Hopefully tomorrows update will include the joyous news that everything is working and I no longer need to buy a new computer as a matter of urgency!
