Second Winter
Yes, Spring is over… and Second Winter is with us! It is snowing hard ahead of Storm Dave which is due to hit at some point tonight - so it’s a day of hunkering down and waiting to see what Sunday brings us. In other news things are progressing with work and it looks like I will be a little more geographically spread starting next week, so I have made the decision to get rid of the Toyota EV and replace it with something a little more leggy so that I am not having to find public chargers that aren’t being hogged by PHEVs as I have encountered a few times lately (usually on 100% charge, but blocking the charger for anyone else for considerable amounts of time).
Anyway, this should be less of an issue going forward as I get another 100 miles of range which is usually about what I manage to add when I find a charger out and about - it would allow me to travel to Perth and back to the south, John O’Groats and back to the North and even Oban and back to the West. So I should be fine (I think it’s Aberdeen and back for the East). I can’t quite stretch a return trip to Edinburgh, but it’s not too far off so a quick charge stop somewhere along the way whilst having a coffee will still be required for those days!
What is it? Well… all will probably be revealed next weekend.
And no, it’s not new. Which works in my favour as it keeps costs down both on the vehicle but also on the VED as it avoids any supplements that the Government may want to add. I am quite excited - everything was finalised late yesterday evening!
