Tales of the BOdy Snatchers
I popped by Dunlichty today on the way home from a wee job in Inverness today to photograph the watch house at Dunlichty Church - one of my absolute favourite places locally, the whole area is just fascinating in terms of history and geography! I don’t spend enough time there to be honest, which is daft as it is so close to home… I really should make more effort!
The watch house was built in 1759 to deter body snatchers from robbing the fresh graves, although by local accounts from the time it seemed to be more of a social club which provided food and refreshments, and allegedly a little illicit whisky too!
I am on a real black and white vibe at the moment and hope to bring you more analogue based work soon too!
