The Destitution Road

Today I was off to Aultbea, and to my suprise the SatNav routed me around Corrieshalloch and down the Destitution Road. There was so much to see, and so little time to stop as I had a commercial job to shoot - and a very limited weather window in which to do so! I did stop off at Fain though, which I have been meaning to photograph for quite some time… the atmosphere today wasn’t really “right” for it though, I would have rather something more dramatic, but as a first attempt it’s okay!

The job itself was a challenge, not because of the property or the location… but the wind! It was blowing a hoolie and my aerial work was quite an eventful time as the controller was screaming at me to land due to high winds. I persevered though and the result I am quite pleased with. I have only just sent it to the client though so no sneak previews just yet! I will probably pop it on my commercial socials once it is released though.

I want to spend more time exploring these areas but my Toyota has such a limited range, particularly in the colder months, that it becomes a challenge in itself managing the battery life. The wind today really drained it fast too! Plans are afoot to do something about it, but I need to be feeling a little more confident in my financial stability first. The AI blow has really been a lot harder than I imagined and, from where I am standing now, I will need to radically rethink my 26/27 forecasts.
