Time For Work

So, that is February done… and my project still hasn’t really started… this is my big Highland Clearances project which I have been planning for a long while. March is upon us and Spring is around the corner though - so now it is time to really get going!

I have decided that my first port of call, although technically out of the area, will be Croik - the old church there, which I photographed a couple of weeks ago, is needing a proper visit with both the film camera and the bigger digital for some close up shots. I may take the 6x9 as well… I want to photograph the church itself and grounds to tell that story, but also get some detail shots of the window inscriptions. The weather on Monday is looking suitably gloomy for such a place so perhaps that will be my opening gambit after I drop me car in for repairs and get my courtesy wheels for the week. Unless we decide to go there tomorrow that is… I may make that suggestion later… although I will need to check that the church isn’t open for business when we turn up!

Anyway - February was okay in terms of commercial work - and I did manage some nice shots in the earlier portion of the month. My mojo, or my opportunities, slid somewhat later on in the month though - so I want to move into the new month with a renewed vigor. I have even booked a darkroom session for Thursday in the hope that I have a few rolls to process by then (I have one, somewhere, but I think I may have messed up the last few frames by forgetting which film I had loaded and assuming it was something more sensitive than it was!)

It was a nice start to today though with bright, warm, sunlight against frosty shadows.
