The Last Days of Summer
It’s almost over… it never really began… yes - we are into the last week of summer 2026 with autumn starting a week tomorrow. Not that you would notice as we seem to have been stuck in a year of autumn!
There is not much news today. I got a soaking. Twice. Although, much to my suprise, I actually managed to get all four jobs for the day shot, edited and out so I am going to count that as a success! Tomorrow is looking promising, at least until mid afternoon, so I am hoping to get the two jobs I have booked in covered - although there is going to be a lot of driving between the two! The first is in Lentran, just over the Culnakirk, then off to Gairloch for a shoot and floorplan (I will probably do it in that order too if the weather is looking like it is changing!). I love getting out west though and hope to shoot at least a few frames of a more artistic nature whilst out and about… but we shall see, the weather has a habit of sinking my plans!
Otherwise the only thing on my mind is whether to submit to The Societies on an art footing or a commercial footing to start my path off with them. I have gone art with The BIPP so I am wondering about going commercial with Societies. I shall read through the briefs again and come to some kind of a decision - but I know I have enough, pretty much on a daily basis, to put together a digital panel for them, particularly as there is no route to skip the licenciateship level! I plan to submit by the end of the month either way….
