Changes
It feels as though the seasons are changing, somewhat earlier than usual. I have been spotting early autumnal scenes as I travel around over the last few days - some trees starting to shift into the golden hues of autumn and the mist is starting to descent. One of my favourite locations locally is already starting to show some promise and I may have to swing by tomorrow if the weather co-operates with some more mist as it was absolutely stunning a couple of days back (when I was, of course, in too much of a rush to stop and shoot it!)
The summer has been forgettable here in the Highlands though, the weather has been drab without the blue skies and heatwaves of our southerly neighbours… other than in terms of work… which has been absolutely fantastic.
So, looking ahead to September the weather is looking like it could be rather dramatic with the impact of El Nino starting to take effect. It is sounding like it could be a stormy one to come. I am not entirely sure how I feel about this - the stormy weather can add heaps of drama to the landscape, but it also does come with a cost as the changing leaves are blown from the trees before they have chance to fully develop.
