Family Day Out
Today we went on a fossil hunt at Cromarty with the Hugh Millar Museum, following in the footsteps of one of the first and best known Scottish geologists we achieved a round number of finds. None. 0. But getting everyone out in the fresh air was the main purpose and that was a success. It was a touch chilly though!
It’s been a great week all round, although not in terms of landscape photography which has been pretty poor. I need to sort out my entries to the BIPP monthlies in the next few days though and I am a bit sparse on anything I want to submit. Partially through lack of opportunity, and partially because I have been learning how to shoot Fuji again - for which I have some pretty big plans! I am running some films through the analogue systems again too so need to get to the dark room at some stage - currently I think I have one to process, if I can remember where I put it - and another almost ready (both Ilford Delta 100 so a nice easy process day). The next batch of films arrived today to work on though - I have a couple of rolls of Rollei Retro 80, a couple of Kentmere 100 (which I have had mixed results from in the past, but thought I would try again now that the back of the camera doesn’t leak light) and a couple of rolls of Earl Grey - again, used before to mixed results but my technique is better now so I want to give it another go).
I also loaded in recipies for all the film stock I tend to use into the GFX to digitally recreate the look so that I can match digital files with analogue images and create that famous “body of work” that I am attempting to develop!
