First week done
So the first working week of 2026 is done, commercially it hasn’t been great - just the one job, but for a new client that I am just starting to build a new relationship with, so I am seeing it as a positive! Hopefully there will be a lot more work to come as the markets start to wake up!
In terms of this arts side of things goes it has been a very productive week, as past visitors can probably tell! This website has been hosted on a Wordpress account since it started last summer, and try as I may, it just never really gave me the tools that I needed… so I made the (rather expensive) decision to move it over to Squarespace which is considerably more user friendly. I still plan on refining it further, this was put together originally as a test bed to see how things went (I already use Squarespace for my commercial photography site), but it was proving so much more flexible that I decided to transfer the domain over and make the test site live.
Now I have got this far I am setting myself the target for next week to get the standard gallery live! This will be the open edition prints to begin with, but whilst they are open edition I plan on changing the selection available fairly regularly to keep things fresh!
Once that is done and working then I want to offer some special limited edition prints of particular photographs - of these there will only ever be a set number available, and I plan to keep that number small!
Finally there is going to be a section for unique prints - these are the one offs that I will never be repeated! If you see one and like it then snap it up because that will be the one and only print of it EVER made! These may be traditional prints, photographed on film and hand printed, or they may be particular digital images that just deserve something extra - that I love so much there can only be one!
So plenty to do, and then the site’s overall look needs refined too.
But right now I am feeling somewhat under the weather so will take my leave and try to relax for the next few days to get whatever is in my system back out before the next working week comes along (and hopefully brings a lot more in the way of commercial work with it!)
