Is It a Miracle?
Today I woke up with trepidation… was the house going to be Baltic cold? Would we have hot water? How much is it going to cost to fix?
But no, the house was warm… I had switched the circuits from manual over-ride back to automatic last night before bed so that we didn’t cook, and I tweaked some of the settings on the heat pumps to put them back towards normal operating temperatures, and then feared the worst. The underfloor heating was just nicely warm underfoot, the radiators were not cold, although they were coolish to the touch and the upstairs temperature was only 17 degrees - but that is my set back for that floor, once the radiator timing switched on they warmed up slowly though. Much to my delight we even had a tank of hot water!
My guess is some debris had fallen into the auto switch and jammed it, but moving it in and out of auto/manual a few times it must have worked itself out as we have run on auto all day successfully. The house is on the cooler side of warm as usual, so all is good!
In wider domestic news - my feet. The left is almost entirely back to normal, the right is still giving me grief - but a bit less than yesterday. Putting my shoes on this morning did not cause deep pain, just a little discomfort. I am still having to wear my fell running shoes from some time ago though as they have a really broad fit and are reasonably soft on top, the new Merrells I bought… not a chance… not yet! I am kind of disgusted with myself though as I have some “Hey Dude” shoes arriving imminently which are a bit “loafer” in style but soft and stretchy… and wide fit… so that next time I injure myself (which is a depressingly regular event) I have something I can get by with! I am tempted by some less horrifically Euro looking shoes form there if these prove comfy, and there are some Keens I may check out as well as some actual wide fit Merrells… I am accepting that perhaps age is catching up with my hooves if not so much with the rest of me (beyond the hairline that is!)
So out to work late today and, as a result, home late. I managed to miss all the light as a consequence of this, so today’s photo is a bit gloomy. I am going to start trying to do a little video, or a series of videos, about each photograph to both grow my audience through socials as well as, I hope, explain a little more about what I am doing… why I am doing it… and what it really means!
At least… I will when I get a moment!
My other victory of the day - I managed to open my knackered car bonnet just enough to squeeze the screen wash hose in from the dispenser at Tesco to refil - because it decided it was empty before I can get everything fixed! It’s booked in for early next month and then will be needing to get an MOT shortly after… and then I get to start thinking about what I am doing with it in the short to medium term.
