Look and Learn

Today I went to view someone elses work - Matt Sillars run’s the Inverness Dark Room and had his opening of his exhibition today at the Moray Arts Centre. The intimate mono landscapes shot, largely, in 6×6 were just fantastic, and the printing was an absolute masterclass in subtlety. It had really reaffirmed my dedication to both monochromatic work and analogue photography - there is something more more tangible about it over digital.

Not that I am giving up on the later!

We had a bit of a chat about the Darkroom’s upcoming annual exhibition too - I am not really happy with my prints yet, but I have some scans of film which are pretty much where I want them. Apparently a hybrid approach still counts so I will probably print out a few to submit at the end of the month! In the meantime I will book a few sessions in and see if I can get them where I want them….

Findhorn itself is a wonderful village and one I really need to head back to for an explore and a photography adventure!
