Lughnasadh
Today sees us reach the traditional Gaelic mid point of the summer, Lughnasadh. And the weather is a bit bleak! Summer is not my most creative time of the year, usually… although a lot depends on the light which can offer the odd dramatic repost… and circumstance. This year we had our holiday early - before the schools finished for the summer - as we were spending time with friends in Iceland. It seems an age ago, and long enough now that I am feeling a wee bit cut off from any social interaction again.
But business is going okay… well even… and I think we are finally reaching that point of sustainability which will allow me to take my foot off the gas a little and start thinking more about the art side of things, and the workshops side of things. I needed that stability in the day-to-day to come first. The next thing on the list is for the road repairs to be completed, then we should be getting fibre broadband installed up the glen around the same time frame - both of which should start helping to move ideas forward.
I guess this is kind of appropriate for this old feast day, although the mountain I have been climbing has been more metaphorical - but I do feel like I have actually achieved something now. The question is… will I head back down, stay put… or find a higher peak to challenge me?
